Wednesday July 3rd: Birthday Party

Wednesday July 3rd

We're officially halfway done with camp! As the "hump day" of camp we had no formal classes and had a day full of fun activities, such as Author Day about Mark Twain and a Birthday Party!
Here are some thoughts from the campers in Texas:
"We learned about Mark Twain. We learned facts about him. His real name was Samuel Clemens. We learned where he lived and about steamboats. We decorated a fence."

"We played Drop the Clothespin in the Bottle. We tried to drop six clothespins in the bottle. Pavel from South Carolina and Dennis from Wisconsin got all six clothespins in the bottle! We decorated cupcakes and we ate them. We played birthday games. We was walking the egg in the spoon. We was trying to keep the egg on the spoon. We played ring toss. We played game with dancing (musical chairs). We threw balls in a cup. We closed our eye and try to glue a horse's tail on the horse (Pin the Tail on the Donkey). We stand on chair and drop wood sticks in the bottle (Drop the Clothespins in the Bottle).

The Americans and helpers arrived extra early to prepare the cupcakes for the all camp Birthday Party:
